Little Sprouts Daycare was opened on June 13, 2011 by Gretchen Rhoades (Miss G) and Christina McKeehan (Miss Tina), a mother-daughter team. After the daycare filled up quickly we decided to build a second location on the property so that we could expand and Miss Tina would have somewhere for her family to live. On September 3, 2013 Big Sprouts Preschool opened and we separated the children into two age groups: 0-3s and 3+. Over the next couple of years we watched dozens of children, with many of them starting as young babies/toddlers and staying with us till they entered school. In Spring 2017 we decided to convert our garage into a third location, help separating the ages even more. On August 14, 2017 the garage was officially opened and we made our name changes. Little Sprouts (back building) became Wee Sprouts Childcare, Big Sprouts Preschool (two story building) became Little Sprouts Preschool, and the newly converted garage became Big Sprouts Pre-K and After School Care.
We now consider ourselves Sprouts Childcare as a whole. All three facilities are state licensed, and participate in Child Care Development Fund (CCDF), formally known as 4C. We also follow all requirements for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federal program that insures healthy meals and snacks to children receiving day care. We are currently a Level 2 for Paths to Quality, a daycare rating system, and are working on becoming Level 4 and Accredited by Spring 2018.
