Volunteer Delivery Drivers pick up meals on their assigned day between 10:45m and 11:00am at our building downtown. It takes about an hour to deliver meals to our clients. We will provide training and anything else you might need like masks or gloves.

 

Terre Haute Area Meals on Wheels is a non-profit agency committed to enhancing the quality of life for eligible homebound adults in our community. Our mission is to serve the elderly, frail, disabled, convalescing and others who cannot provide proper nutrition for themselves. Dedicated volunteers deliver meals to our clients each weekday, with the objective of improving the nutritional status and health of these individuals. It is our goal that this combination of nutritious meals and social contact will help our clients to remain independent as long as possible.

Basic Duties: Assist our Kitchen Manager and kitchen staff with daily meal production, food processing, and cleaning. Our kitchen is open Monday through Friday, generally from 8am to 3pm, with various types of volunteer work available. Morning kitchen assistants helping with daily meal prep, and often prepare items for cold meals and assist with sealing hot meals for the day, as well as kitchen clean up. Morning shift is 8am to 11am or 9am to noon     We can also use kitchen assistants that wish to come monthly instead of weekly to help with deep cleaning our kitchen.   We provide aprons, gloves, and bandanas for your hair.
