We’re looking for volunteers to help us build an overhang over the steps at the rescue trailer — and this project is about so much more than just construction.
Right now, volunteers, deliveries, supplies, and even cats are all battling the weather coming in and out of the trailer. Rain, snow, wind, blazing sun… Indiana likes to throw a little bit of everything at us.
This overhang will help:
• Protect volunteers entering and leaving the rescue
• Keep donated supplies and deliveries dry during bad weather
• Make the entrance safer during rain and snow
• Create another sheltered space for our outdoor cats to escape the elements
This is one of those projects that may seem simple, but it will make a HUGE difference every single day for both people and cats. We’re looking for handy volunteers, builders, tool-holders, problem-solvers, and even people who just want to help where they can. Whether you’re experienced with projects like this or just willing to lend a hand, we’d love to have you involved.
