Project Description
Westminster Village will host a fun, interactive “Wheelchair Car Wash” event designed to bring joy, engagement, and connection to our Assisted Living and Health Center residents. This outdoor experience will transform a typical summer day into a celebratory, sensory-rich activity where residents can have their wheelchairs refreshed while enjoying music, laughter, and community interaction.
Residents will be escorted outside to a designated, safe washing area where volunteers will gently wash and rinse wheelchairs using light water spray, sponges, and towels. Sprinklers will be set up to create a playful and cooling environment, and upbeat music will enhance the atmosphere. Cold treats (such as popsicles or ice cream cups) will be provided to residents and volunteers to complete the experience.
This event promotes dignity, socialization, and quality of life while also supporting cleanliness and maintenance of mobility equipment in a positive and engaging way.

Note: Volunteers should be comfortable being outdoors, getting wet, and working in a lively, interactive environment.
