

Who We Are
The Sisters of Providence are a community of Catholic women religious who collaborate with others to create a more just and hope-filled world through prayer, education, service and advocacy. Founded in 1840 by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, we are located in beautiful Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. All are welcome.
What We Do
The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, minister in 17 states, the District of Columbia and Asia. Locally, volunteers are always needed to serve at White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, Providence Spirituality & Conference Center, Providence Healthcare, and Providence Food Pantry. The Sisters of Providence have opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and walks of life.
