Hospice of the Wabash Valley

Who We Are

Hospice of the Wabash Valley/The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care is a non-profit agency providing supportive care to people in the final phase of a terminal illness.  Our focus is on comfort and quality of life, rather than cure.  Our goal is for patients to live each day as fully as possible.

Hospice of the Wabash Valley celebrated 40 years of service in 2022.  We were one of the first 50 Hospices to open in the United States.

In the spring of 2018, we opened the first inpatient hospice center within a 60-mile radius of Terre Haute.  The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care is located in Union Hospital, 5th floor of the West Building.

Our mission is to provide the best in home health and hospice care in the Wabash Valley...Our Passion, Our Promise, Our Privilege.

Our core values are:

  • COMPASSION first
  • INTEGRITY always
  • RESPECT for all
  • EXCELLENCE in everything

What We Do

Hospice provides services for any patient with a terminal illness resulting in a life expectancy of six months or less as determined by their physician.  Hospice services includes a team approach that includes our volunteers.
